The "high" and "very high" risk of forest fires in Navarre

The State Meteorology Agency (AEMET) has indicated for this Saturday that there is a "high" and "very high" risk of forest fires in several Navarre territories, so SOS Navarra recommends avoiding any activity that may lead to fires.

In the event of a fire, the Government of Navarre has drawn up the following list of recommendations to deal with the situation:

1. If the fire is small, try to extinguish the flames from the base using water, soil or bush branches.
2. If the size of the fire makes it impossible to approach, move away from where there is less vegetation and move away in the opposite direction to the wind.
3. Protect the airways and try not to get tired.
4. If you can't escape the fire, find a burnt area or clearing, lie on your back and cover yourself with wet clothes or soil.
