A new regulation will allow patient associations to have a greater impact on the health system

The associations of patients  will be able to have a greater impact on the transformation of the Basque health system  thanks to a specific regulation that will be developed by the Basque Government , as announced this Wednesday by the Health Counsellor, Alberto Martínez, which will strengthen the "capacity to recognize, guarantee independence and influence the specificity" of these associations.

The counselor participated in the day "Participation of patient associationsintheBasque Country Health Pact "held this Wednesday at the Gipuzkoa  Science and Technology Park, where he made the announcement to various associations.

In addition, the Department of Health, which he directs, has announced theappointmentof a reference person  to be a\u00A0 interlocutor with patient associations.

Martinez wanted to thank these associations for their work during these 10 months at the tables of the Health Pact, but he asked them to continue working to transform the system: "We need youclose and very active , "he said.

For example, in order to socialize and disseminate what has been agreed in the Health Pact, patient associations will participate in workshops and working sessions with health system professionals.
