Refuting the Bilbao City Council's version, Kai Nakai, Maren and Olatz Salvador claim that only the former was offered an alternative scenario
Councilwoman Itziar Urtasun said she proposed to act in the Circular Square, and it was the artists who "refused" the offer.
Kai Nakai, Maren and Olatz Salvadorhave denied the versiongiven by Itziar Urtasun , Councilwoman for Festivals and Equality in Bilbao, about the concert they were going to offer on the Abandoibarra stage on August 15.
According to Urtasun, instead of Abandoibarra, artists were offered the opportunity to perform in the Circular Square. However, in a statement, the three singers have stated that the City Council did not contact them, and that this option was offered only to Kai Nakai .
Following the councilman's statements, the artists have confirmed the version published on August 16 . They have specified that when the concert was decided to be cancelled, the groups of Olatz Salvador and Marén left; then Kai Nakai was left alone, and Urtasunand several municipal representatives addressed him. They have explained that they only proposed to him the possibility of offering a concert in the Circular Square, which he rejected: "Kai Nakai replied that this proposal did not seem ethical to him, since the concert belonged to three artists. "
They also report that they never saw any interest in addressing and meeting them , and that they have not yet had any "communication or interest" on the part of the City Council.
With regard to the municipal proposal for joint communication, the singers recall that the public learned through their video of the cancellation of the concert: "The City Council did not yet give its opinion and we felt it was a disrespect."
