The Public Prosecutor's Office has requestedseven years' imprisonmentfor each of them for attempted murder ,while the parents have indicated that the injuries are the result of a "very rare" illness.
On Monday, September 8, thetrial of parents for endangering her life by shaking her two-month-old daughter, both of whom have denied the facts and argued that the minor was never shaken.
The mother has explained that she had complications during pregnancy and that, along with subsequent health problems, the baby developed a "very rare" genetic disease one, so that, according to the parents, would be the cause of theminor's injuries.
The prosecution requests seven years' imprisonment for each of them for attempted murder. The prosecution alleges that one of the parents violently shook the girl and the other did not prevent the attack.
One of the Ertzainas involved in the investigation has stated that the mother gave "more explanations than necessary" and justified each and every injury, even without asking.
The parents have indicated that the child is undergoing genetic tests , so we will soon know the results of these tests, that is, whether it is a rare disease or not the cause of the injuries.
