TheValencian Meteorological Association (Avamet) has reported that the Valencian Communityhas accumulated more than 358 kl/m2 in 12 hours, where the red alert has been maintained, while theCatalan Governmenthas ensured that the "worst" has already passed, despite warning citizens of "vigilance " and "caution" in the face of floods.
The rain has caused flooding in the west of the peninsula, and the storm has suspended many activities for the day and event.
In Zaragoza, for example, municipalities like Cuarte de Huerva have been completely flooded.
The situationwill continue to be bad in the next few hours, especially in southernCatalonia, theBalearic Islandsand, more critically, in the Valencian Community, where very high rainfall, the risk of flooding and possible floods of rivers are expected, so red warnings for extreme weather events remain in place in the area.
Valencian Community
According to Avamet, Gandia(Valencia) has accumulated more than 356.8 l/m2 in 12 hours.
At the same time, 283 litres/m2 have accumulated in Pinet; 275.4 litres in Barx; and 190.2 litresin Rafelcofer. In Aldaia(Valencia), the neighbors have spent the night waiting for the ravine floodgates to prevent it from overflowing.
As a result, the City of Valenciahas suspended schools, sports and cultural activities and closed parks, gardens and cemeteries in the face of danger, as well as the meeting around GOIDIA. In Tarragon, heavy rains have led to delays in the AP-7 off Freginals, causing problems on the N-340 road in Amposta. Emergency services have warned that the situation could worsen during the night and Tuesday, when persistent rains are expected.
