The populous Nafarroa Oinez in Villava
The ikastola Paz de Ziganda has organized this year a meeting for the Euskera and the ikastolas.
Atarrabia is today celebratingthe Nafarroa Oinez meeting in favor of the Euskera and the ikastolas, by the hand of the ikastola Paz de Ziganda.
The sound of the horn and the txalaparta has started a celebration full of activities from the first hour of the morning. At the opening ceremony, the ikastola's façade was decorated with a big heart, while the dancers danced at the rhythm of the song "Bake mina" played by Anne Etchegoyen.
The international situation has been one of the protagonists of this edition, where ikastola president Maider Nuin has called for an end to violence and for to "build a more peaceful and supportive world."
However, this has not taken the lead from the real protagonist of the day: the Euskera.
Navarra's Foral Government Counsellor, Ana Ollo, has stressed that the situation of the Basque Country in the territory is "increasingly anachronistic" and has stated that it must be overcome.
For his part, Oier Sanjurjo , director of Nafarroak Ikastolen Elkartea, has also participated in this celebration, who believes that there are two elements that "sew" the whole of Navarre: the football team Osasuna and the Basque education of the ikastolas.
Today in Villava there will be celebrations throughout the day at the 2025 Nafarroa Oinez festival, and there will be an opportunity to get hungry for music, parties and gastronomy along a 2.8-kilometer tour.
Next stop: Viana.
The town of Viana will be the next to host the Nafarroa Oinez event, where the ikastolas of Erentzun and San Fermín will hold hands with each other in their previous challenge.
In Villava, therefore, they have passed the witness to the ikastolas that will organize the 2026 Nafarroa Oinez, attended by representatives of the ikastolas: from the association Erentzun, its president, Marta Tejada, and its director, Garbiñe Zulaika; and from San Fermín, its president, Eider Sagastibeltza, and its director, Uxue.
