The Amurrio Mountain Wind Farm project has been modified from 7 to 4 wind turbines
The new project envisages installing four 110 metres high and 7.8 MW of unit power windmills (previously 7), as well as an anemometric tower of 99.5 metres. Although generators would be installed in Amurrio, the evacuation line would also affect the municipality of Ayala. With these changes the total power would rise to 31.2 MW and the investment would fall to 24.8 million.
Green Devco Energy 5 has modified the project to build a wind farm in Amurrio, and where 7 wind turbines were planned, 4 would be built now, but the facility's capacity would not be reduced, as each mill would have a higher unit power.
Last April, the Official Gazette of the Basque Country (BOPV) published the announcement of the preliminary procedure for the wind farm called 'Mendi' , which would consist of the installation of 7 wind turbines of 113 metres high with a unit power of between 4 and 4.5 MW. The plant, with a budget of almost EUR 32.5 million, should have a total built power of 30 MW.
As a result of the public information and consultation procedure opened in April, the promoter has amended the project, which will now have to be republished, as the BOPV states on Tuesday.
