The victim has been treated in a health facility and the detainee will be brought before the court.
A 32-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning in San Sebastian on charges of assaulting his partner.
According to the Department of Safety and Security, the events took place minutes before 4.30 a.m. on Sunday, when a citizen called 112 to report that a man was beating a woman on Julio Urkijo Avenue in the capital of Guipuzcoana.
The patrol found a young man on the street. A girl leaned against the wall and was forcing her to bend over her hair. The officers have separated the two persons, but the man has shown a very violent attitude, even insulting and threatening, and has thrown himself at the officers. The intervention of some of them has therefore been necessary in order to stop it, the same sources have reported.
Subsequently, the victim has had to be treated in a health facility and two officers have also had to receive health care. The 32-year-old detainee shall be brought before the court when the relevant police proceedings are completed.
