In the face of male violence and networks of complicity, social responsibility and feminist resistance will be proclaimed on 25 November
On the international day N to eradicate violence against women, the Euskal Herria Feminist Movement has called demonstrations in the capitals of Euskal Herria (Bilbao, San Sebastián, Vitoria-Gasteiz and Pamplona, 19:00 and Baiona, 18:30).
Coincidingwith the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, today will be a day of vindication and mobilization in the Basque Country and around the world.
Thisyear's campaign, launched by Emakunde in collaboration with the three deputies and EUDEL, calls for "social, community and institutional responsibility" to "protect, listen, believe and care" for women who are suffering male violence.
Under the slogan "It's not just your problem, it's ours," the institutions call for the entire society to be activated to prevent the "normalization" of male violence.
Accordingto Mira Elgarresta , director ofEmakunde , it is up to society to "respond, help, understand and believe; society must feel that it is not a personal problem of some women, but a social problem."
The November 25 campaign will emphasize that male violence is everyone's responsibility
The Government of Navarre, for its part, has emphasized the so-called "silent violence". The campaign aims to raise society's awareness of socially justified behaviour, attitudes and speeches, which often occur unconsciously but serve as a "breeding ground" for legitimizing more explicit and serious violence against women.
Underthe slogan "Violence is also hidden in everyday life. Let's make it visible." , the intention of the Navarre Government is "to encourage reflection on what we hear, see and do every day in order to facilitate the detection of these forms of violence and prevent their naturalization."
The campaign of the Navarre institutions on 25 November focuses on "silent violence" and micromachismo
