30 foreign minors are under the guardianship of the Provincial Council of Álava, allegedly abandoned by their parents
In addition, on Wednesday, the National Police arrested a couple in Bilbao for abandoning two minor children who, according to the administrations, enter the State legally with their parents, leaving them in a situation of helplessness so that they can finally be protected by the deputies.
Sources from the Provincial Council of Álava have confirmed to EiTB that in recent months some 30 minors have arrived in the Basque Country , and that after the apparent abandonment of their parents, the minors are placed under the guardianship of the deputies.
These minors entered the Spanish state legally , accompanied by a relative or guardian, who were subsequently abandoned at train or bus stations.
In one case, a father left his 11-year-old son directly at a police station in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and in another case his parents showed up at the centre to pick him up when they learned that they had committed a child abandonment offence.

In connection with this phenomenon, on Wednesday, the National Police arrested two people in Bilbao accused of abandoning their two minor children, who had been left in a situation of helplessness.
Police have reported that the investigation began in February of this year, when both parents travelled from Morocco to Spain with their youngest daughter and left her alone on a busthat took her from Granada to Bilbao, where her older brother, who had been abandoned years earlier when she was still a minor, lived.
