Joseba Novoa, husband of the Royal fan wounded by the Ertzaintza: "I'm here to face the shooter."
Novoa has been in court while the six Ertzainas who took part in the police operation — four as defendants and two as witnesses — have testified before the investigating judge . Izan also tried today the ertzaina who injured Amaia Zabarte.
Amaia Zabarte, husband of the Royal Society's fan, Joseba Novoa, approached the San Sebastián courts this morning to "face up" to the ertzaina who wounded his wife, who was injured by the Ertzaintza in the riots prior to the match against the Paris Saint Germain in March 2024, where six officers testified today before the examining magistrate.
Four of them have testified as defendants and the other two as witnesses.
"I wanted to face him, because they know my face publicly," he says.
In addition, with regard to the early afternoon rally of the unions of the Ertzaintza in the capital of Guipuzcoana, he said that he stronglycondemns the violencebecause "it must never be the way to fix things".
"I ask the unions to take the place of society, even if their situation is not easy, instead of protocols, they should change their positions," he added.
On the other hand, he has criticized the Ertzaintza Department of Internal Affairs for "continuing to manipulate and lie" and has warned that, despite attempts to conceal what happened, there are images.
Finally, he has stated that the practice is "disastrous" and that the chief witness, the woman who was helping his wife when she was wounded by an officer, has yet to testify. In this regard, he has assumed that the judge will try to close the case.
