A few minutes before 11 p.m. this Wednesday, the victim, a 49-year-old woman, was walking along road GI-631 off Azkoitia. The attacker was riding a bicycle and was wearing a balaclava. He stopped next to the victim and threw her to the ground with the intention of sexually assaulting her.
The victim has been able to scream and ask for help, and several people who were in the vicinity have immediately come to the scene. The 60-year-old detainee has been transferred to police stations where he will remain until he is taken to court, while the victim has been taken to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.
