The Osakidetza Security Officer has been dismissed and charged with falsifying his qualifications

The Department of Health of the Basque Government has sued the head of the Osakidetza Corporate Security Servicefor documentary falsehood after finding that he did not have a university degree and that the one he presented was false.

The Director of Osakidetza, Lore Bilbao, was asked about the case at a media briefing six months after the launch of the Health Pact and confirmed it. 

The head of Osakidetza has explained that, within the  of the analyses and reviews they carry out to "reinforce" and "review" various issues related to the staff, "it was found that the computer application did not include the degree required by the position that that person was occupying."\u00After going to the University Degree Consultation Service (NISAE) , it was found that the university degree that he presented to the post did not appear in that service. "

In view of this, and since the post is under the Directorate-General, he was "required to present the original title" from the Directorate. "In that interview, he admitted that he did not have the titleand, immediately, measures were taken, since no information file was required, since the same person acknowledged it, which involves his dismissal from his post and the adoption of various measures. "

The Director-General of Osakidetza has confirmed that "the necessary measures" will be taken to fill this position, first of all, "to check whether there are eligible candidates."

The alleged fraudster is an ertzaina working in the direction of the Ertzaintza.

The case was released on Sunday by the newspaper El Mundo, according to which the alleged fraudster is an agent of the Ertzaintza who worked in the Coordination Directorate of the Autonomous Police and had "numerous political and personal contacts". The newspaper reports that the position was created ad hoc for him in 2023, when the head of the Department of Health was Gotzone Sagarduy .

The functions of the post include drawing up safety plansfor the staff of 45,000 professionals, supervising the work of private safety contracts in outpatient clinics and hospitals and analysing the risks of all health personnel and patients. It is also responsible for the preparation of technical reports in the process of awarding private security contracts tothe Department of Health.  The salary of the post is €61,000 per year.

According to the media, the documentation submitted by the agent at the time to obtain this position was obligated by the Getxo City Council.
