The road between Getaria and Zarautz has been cut off by several landslides
The neighbors between Zumaia and Zarautz are used to seeing the N-634 closed during the rainy and stormy season, but there was a big scare this Monday at noon when a stone of spectacular size fell. Fortunately, the net intended to hold the stones and others that may fall has been able to hold it and has not fallen on the road.
The surprise was recorded at the 23rd kilometre of the road, in the direction of Zarautz, where this lane has been cut off, a traffic light has been put in place and traffic has been diverted along the lane leading to Zumaia, until the second detachment has occurred.
Around 18:30, land and stones have fallen back on the road at the height of kilometre 21, and the road has been completely cut off. The Department of the Interior has informed Orain that it is unknown when the road can be opened.
Construction workers are there to clear the road, but the big stone that fell at noon won't start withdrawing until tomorrow.
More information soon.
