Basque women spend 2.2 hours a day more than men caring for their children
These are data for the year 2024, collected in the survey published this Friday by the Basque Institute of Statistics on the occasion of International Women's Day on Sunday.
Women in the Basque Country spend between 0.8 and 2.2 hours a day more than men caring for minor children; in the 25-34 age group, for example, women spend 6.1 hours a day on these tasks and men 3.9 hours a day.
This is one of the data collected in the survey published this Friday by the Basque Institute of Statistics - Ustat - on the occasion of International Women's Day this Sunday.
This difference in hours spent caring for minor children is lower among those aged 35 to 44, as women spend 5.2 hours a day and men 4 hours.
