The Gipuzkoa High Court will try a man this month for attempting to kill another man in Errenteria and then threatening him while he was recovering at Donostia Hospital to prevent him from reporting the attack. The Public Prosecutor's Office requests 10 years' imprisonment for the defendant for attempted murder and an offence against the administration of justice.
According to the provisional indictment of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the events took place around 00:20 on 24 September 2024. The victim was taken to Donostia University Hospital, where she was admitted. She had to be surgically intervened as the injuries endangered her life. Hours later, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office, the injured man received several calls from the accused not to report the facts and threatened to "slit her throat" if he did.
In addition to the prison sentence, the Public Prosecutor's Office requests six years' probation, a restraining order, a fine of 6,000 euros and compensation of 5,623 euros for the victim.
