The victim, a 38-year-old woman, is still in the ICU, where she was stabbed by her partner in the family home and in the presence of her four children. a woman was taken by helicopter to Cruces Hospital, and one of the victim's daughters, a 15-year-old, was slightly injured by her father.
The man arrested in Berriz for attempting to kill his partner is still in police custody this Wednesday awaiting a statement before the judge, according to the Basque Government's Department of Security.
The alleged perpetrator, a 48-year-old man, was arrested on Monday by the police on charges of attempting to stab his wife, a 38-year-old woman. The attack took place on Monday morning in the family home itself, and was stopped by the couple's four children and a neighbour.

Demonstration to condemn the attack
Hundreds of citizens denounced yesterday afternoon in Berriz the attempted macho murder. The Berriz Feminist Movement stressed the need to claim collective responsibility for male violence and Emakunde to take to the streets in the face of such attacks.
The alleged perpetrator remains in police custody pending a statement before the judge, while the victim remains in a serious condition in the ICU.
