According to information from the Basque Government's Department of Security, the body was found by a person who was walking in the Itzurun area last Sunday at around 07:55. The woman had no documentation with her, so she could not be identified at first.
The body was transferred to the San Sebastian Court Medicion Commerce p for autopsy. The autopsy found that the body showed no signs of crime.
According to the investigation carried out by the Ertzaintza, the deceased is a60-year-old woman of Spanish nationality whose relative reported her disappearance on Monday at the Eibar police station because she had not heard from her since Saturday.
