Following the controversy in a retirement home in Bilbao, the Basque Parliament has taken a step towards making it possible to play bingo in this type of centre. Parliament has approved the start of the processing of a proposal for a law submitted by thePP to amend the current rules of the Game. The aim is to specify in the regulation, for example, that users of centres for the elderly and other social associations can play bingo as a non-profit activity, without fear of receiving fines of up to 60,000 euros.

Groups may table amendments
This initiative came to the plenary of Parliament on Thursdayand it was agreed that it should be taken into account, so that the proposal will now be moved to the stage of discussion in the House and in committee, and the groups will be able to table their amendments.
In addition to the votes in favour of the PP, the bill hasbeen supportedby E AJ, PSE-EE and Vox, while EH Bildu and Sumar abstained.
