Three persons will sit on the bench of the accused: the alleged perpetrator of the murder a, another man who gave the knife to him (accused of being a necessary assistant) and a woman who covered up the crime.
The Public Prosecutor's Office requests 22 years' imprisonment for two men for murder in the case of the former and collaboration in the case of the latter. The family, a private prosecution, requests 25 years.
Aguirre celebrated Christmas Eve with friends in a discotheque in Okendo Square, in the centre of the capital of Guipuzcoana, and on leaving, around 6:00, and near the Hotel Maria Cristina, there was an argument between the two gangs.
Then, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office, "unexpectedly and suddenly", without a "defensive" option, Lukas Aguirre was stabbed twice, one on the side and the other on the neck, where he bled to death. The assailant, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office, acted "with the intention of killing Lukas".
The crime caused great dismay in Hernani, where, a few days after the fatal attack, a massive act of farewell and support for the family took place. In San Sebastian, hundreds of people were alsoconcentrated in the days following the murder.
