The Spanish police arrested a man in Madrid on Saturday for his alleged involvement in the death of a woman who appeared dead with a blow to the head on a street in Carabanchel.
Around 07:30, the National Police received a warning that a woman had been found unconscious and lying on the public road, the police said in a statement.
Members of the Citizen Care Team have come to the scene and remained with the victim until the arrival of the health services, but they have only been able to confirm the death of the woman.
As the investigation progressed, the officers found a man in the house where the victim lived and near the scene, who had been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a homicide.
Officers of the Provincial Scientific Police Brigade and the Violent Crime Group (DEVI) of Group V of Homicide have also come to the scene and have taken over the investigation into possible cases of gender-based violence.
