The Topo section that will link Altza (Donostia) with Galtzalaborda (Errenteria) will be operationalon July 18 , as announced this Wednesday by Sustainable Mobility Counselor Susana García Chueca.
The opening of this section will prevent trains from having to 'bounce' at the Altza station, and will meanthe opening of the new underground station in Antxo Pasai, the old terminal being dismantled and the viaduct removed, the railway barrier between the buildings.
García Chueca has visited the works together with Miguel Ángel Páez, Deputy Director General of ETS Antonio López and Javier Seoane, CEO of Euskotren.
The implementation of the variant between the stations of Altza and Galtzaraborda will allow service to be provided at all the stations between Amara and Pasaia with a frequency of 7.5 minutes, which until now was only up to Herrera, with a waiting time of 15 minutes in Altza and Pasaia, as recalled by the Basque Government in a statement.
The Councillor has announced that citizens who wish to do so will be able to visit the works of the new Pasaitarra station between 15 and 18 June; will announce the calendar and registration procedure weeks in advance.
The terminal is almost finished, and the civil work of the railway will be completed in June, as the entrance coraline and metal carpentry remates, the partitions of the ventilation areas and the technical rooms are yet to be installed.
In the Galtzaraborda, progress has been made on the foundations of the walls, and work is being done to finish it, on the balasto-balasto transition slab, and on the balasto between the exit of the tunnel and the station.
Given the advanced state of the coverage project in this area, the network will arrive in Galtzaraborda with only one track, and the installation of the second track will continue in the coming months.
