The families of the ikastola Estella have asked to maintain four Model D classrooms
According to a manifesto released by a group of parents, the number of pre-enrollments allows the next course to have four model D classrooms in HH3: two in the ikastola Lizarra and two in the public school Remontival.

A group of parents from the ikastola Estella has launched a manifesto calling for the maintenance of four model D classrooms in Estella. Specifically, for the year 2026-2027, they claim to have two HH3 classrooms in the ikastola Estella and two Model D classrooms in the public school Remontival.
For the next course 55 students have enrolled in the 3-year classroom and model D in Estella: 31 in the ikastola Estella and 24 in the public school Remontival.
According to the note released by the affected parents, the pre-enrollment figures allow the next course to have two classrooms in the ikastola Estella (two classrooms of 16 and 15) and two others (two classrooms of 12) in the public school Remontival.
However, the Navarre Education Council is considering opening a class of 25 students in the ikastola Estella, leaving out 6 children.
Moreover, the manifesto's signatories have denounced that the Education Council has changed its criteria "overnight" and without prior notice, leaving 6 children out of the families that have chosen Ikastola Lizarra.
Although the Education Counsellor insists that closing a classroom will save between 80,000 and 90,000 euros, the signatories deny this information. "Instead of closing classrooms, we believe the time has come to reinforce the idea of an education with lower ratios, thus allowing attention to diversity and reducing school failure."
