UPV/EHU today holds a joint end-of-study graduation event in San Mamés
For the first time, more than 4,000 graduate and postgraduate students who complete their studies at the public university of the Basque Country will meet in a single event, which will begin at 6.30 p.m. and will include groups such as Nogen and Janus Lester and bertsolaris such as Maialen Lujanbio and Amets Arzallus.
They have everything ready in San Mamés for the joint graduate and postgraduate event held today for the first time by the UPV/EHU, which this year will bring together about 4,000 students who complete their studies at the public university of the Basque Country, and on stage will be, among others, the music groups Nøgen and Janus Lester and the bertsolaris Maialen Lujanbio and Amets Arzallus.
Students who are going to complete their studies and have signed up have been summoned at 4 p.m. in the three photocall spaces that will be set up in the San Mamés area so that they can perpetuate the big day with their family, friends and classmates.
The UPV/EHU Joint Graduate andPostgraduate Event can be followed live on the Orain eta and ETBON platform from 18:30.

Not the Birret, but the Berets.
The "cathedral" of San Mamés will have a chair for the enrolled students and will be organized according to the faculties and areas of knowledge. The protocol will begin with a spectacular parade of young people with their respective academic bands of their respective disciplines. The main novelty of this year is that the UPV will distribute berets to graduates instead of birdies.
Opposite will be the stage reserved for the authorities, and the doctors will take the first ranks to begin an unprecedented event.

Live music and verses
Nøgen and Janus Lester will perform on stage. Nøgen's vocalist, Ane Negueruela, works in the medical field after graduating from the UPV, while Janus Lester is led by Dr. Jokin Pinacho of Chemistry. The verse will also have its space in today's event, by the BertsolarisMaialen Lujanbio and Amets Arzallus, both champions of the Grand Bertsolaris Championship of the Basque Country.
On the other hand, science will also have its place with the conference "The Future of the Past" by Counsellor Juan Ignacio Pérez Iglesias.
Solidarity with Palestine
The UPV/EHU will maintain the firm human commitment undertaken at the beginning of the course, showing its support for the Palestinian people, so the singer of Gaza Sol Band will perform in an emotional performance.
Tribute to the alumni
The UPV / EHUManagement will deliver the 2026 EHUalumni Awards to honor professionals who faithfully reflect the values of the institution, which will be awarded to architect Sofia Arribas, engineer Itxaso Ariza, lawyer Iñigo Lamarka, economist Teresa Madariaga, former footballer Iraia Iturregi and pioneer researcher at the Faculty of Science and Technology Carmen Mijangos.
