The Ararteko supports, beyond obstacles, all women participating in the Alarde
The Ombudsman's deputy, Estefania Ocariz, will be in Irun this Tuesday as a gesture of support for the Alarde in which women and men participate equally.
On Monday, the Ararteko expressed its support for "all women who, overcoming all kinds of obstacles, participate in the Alarde de Irun, as well as all those who, with effort and courage, continue to work year after year to exercise this right".
The Ararteko has made this reflection in the run-up to the Alarde, stating that "in fulfilling its mission of defending the rights of citizens", it expresses its "unequivocal support" for the right of women "to participate on an equal footing in all festive demonstrations held in the Basque Country".
Indeed, Estefania Ocariz, deputy to the Ombudsman, will be in Irun on Tuesday, thus confirming the inalienable right of women to participate equally in all areas of economic, social, cultural and political life, without exception, including local holidays, whatever traditions are celebrated with them.
