Macho murders in Alicante and Malaga: three women killed
A man was arrested today on charges of killing his wife and one of his daughters and seriously injuring another. On Wednesday, he was found dead in a woman's body in Malaga, where he had been missing since March.
The Civil Guard is investigating the crime in Alicante.
The Ministry ofEquality has confirmed as sexist crimes the murders of three women inAlicante and Malaga . With these two confirmed cases, 27 women — three in the South Basque Country — have already been murdered this year by their partners or ex-partners in the Spanish State.
The latest male murder took place today in a home in the municipalityof Cañada del Fenollar (Alicante). A 53-year-old man was arrested by the Civil Guard on charges of killing his wife (51 years) and his 20-year-old daughter with knives. He seriously injured his 26-year-old daughter. It was this third woman who alerted the emergency by calling 112.
The man has no record of ill-treatment. The alleged murderer is admitted to the hospital for self-inflicted injuries.
The other male murder was reported to the police on Wednesday when the body of a 35-year-old woman who had been missing since 31 March was found in a well in the Malagueña town of Rincón de la Victoria. Her ex-partner, 49, has confessed to the crime and told the police where the body is.
This man also had no record of ill-treatment. The alleged murderer entered prison today, and in this case two people are under investigation (one has been imprisoned) for covering up the murder.
According to data from the Ministry of Equality, male males have killed 1,368 women since 2003 (when data was collected), and 524 minors have been orphaned, 14 of them in 20026.
