The Department ofSafety of the Basque Government haslowered the Orange Heat Alert for the weekend inside the ACV to the yellow warning . However,theOrange Forest Fire Risk Alert in Álava will be maintained. In Navarre, the Orange Heat Warning will be activated by Sunday in the centerof the Foral Community.
Due to the lowering of the alert level, the heat will not stop. Today the yellow warning will be in effect throughout the ACV due to extreme high temperatures and persistent high temperatures. On the coast, the minimum will be around 20 degrees Celsius and the maximum will be up to 30 degrees Celsius.
All of Navarre will also be on alert, with highs between 36 and 37 degrees Celsius in the Pyrenees and the Cantabrian, and 38 degrees Celsius in the centre and Ribera. In the Northern Basque Country, the Meteofranc has activated the orange alert level, with highs of 30 degrees on the coast and 36 degrees inland.
These heat warnings on Sunday will continue. The thermometer will rise to 34 degrees Celsius on the coast and 35-36 degrees Celsius in Álava. In the interior of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, the highs will rise even further to 37 degrees Celsius. In Navarre, they will be under warning in almost the entire territory. In the central area, however, they will activate the orange alert, as the highs could reach 39 degrees Celsius.
In addition, tomorrow, from 5 p.m. onwards, there will be another yellow warning for heavy rainfalland the possibility of hail, especially in the west, and for strong winds of between 60 and 90 km/h.
By Monday there will only be heat warnings in Álava. In Navarre, the Ribera will be the only area under warning. In fact, according to the Euskalmet forecast, temperatures will drop. The highs will be below 30 ° C near the coast; it will be less temperate in the interior. Meteofrance has not issued warnings in the north.
Orange Forest Fire Risk Alert in Araba
Álava will be on orange alert throughout the weekend for the risk of forest fires (12:00 to 20:00).
