High temperatures are having serious consequences for farmers, who have lost whole crops of lettuce on some farms, and many other vegetables have not got enough size to market, and the heat has also caused peppers and guindillas to change their flavor, and they are more spicy this year.

On Tuesday thermometers will drop, except in the centre of Navarre and the Ribera, where they will remain on alert. 

Highs of up to 38 degrees Celsius are expected in Álava and in the interior of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, and up to 41 degrees Celsius in the centre and Ribera of the Foral Community. On the coast, the Pyrenees and the cantabrian side of Navarre the yellow warning has been activated and the thermometer will rise to 33-36 degrees. 

In many European countries, extreme temperatures of up to 40 degrees are still present, as warming has left extreme historical temperatures in Germany, Denmark and the Czech Republic, while authorities are using water cannons to refresh the population.
