As a result of climate change, we are experiencing the warmest summers in history, and it is increasingly necessary to start adapting buildings to high temperatures. Faced with this, the Basque Government has announced grants for the installationof air conditioning\u00A0, provided that it is fed through solar panels .
Lehendakari Imanol Pradales, who announced in the General Policy Debate an allocation of EUR 340 million to combat climate change, is part of this package of measures. The Government has explained in a statement that "the programme is based on the principle of 'sun cooling', that is, air conditioning generated by solar panels , andwill be aimed at all citizens: housing, schools, health centres, industries, service companies and businesses ".
The goal is to boost HVAC, but without generating energy dependence and increasing the electricity bill, so the energy source needed to cool a building must come from a self-consumption infrastructure or a renewable energy community.
