Euskadi recorded nearly 300 possible heat-related deaths in summer

Week after week, 89 deaths were recorded in the first week of summer, from 22 to 28 June, along with a major heat wave that caused the Osakidetza Emergency Service to treat 67 people from 20 to 28 June due to high temperatures, 37 of whom had to be transferred to hospitals and health centres.
In the week from 29 June to 5 July, heat deaths were 42, rising to 45 in each of the following two weeks. Between 20 and 26 July, 17 people died and between 27 July and 2 August, 20 people died. From 3 to 9 August, eight deaths were recorded, from 10 to 16 August, 23. Finally, eight more people died from heat last week.
