Firefighters are working to control last Wednesday's fire in the Cinco Villas region of Aragon. Although the fire remains active, the situation has improved this Saturday and there has been no progress on the affected perimeter, although the instability of the wind continues to complicate the situation.
The Navarre Fire Brigade, which has been working at night, has been relieved from 6:00 a.m., as some 450 workers, including firefightersfrom Cordovilla, Sangüesa and Tafalla, are working there.
At the same time, civil protection technicians and the Director-General of the Ministry of the Interior, Salva Díez, continue to monitor the development of the fire and maintain constant contact with municipal officials in Navarre towns close to the fire and with the Civil Protection Services of Aragon.
Meanwhile, the Aragon Petilla is still evacuated as a precaution and the Sangüesa Foral Police are in the village to monitor the town centre and control access.
