The Imserso will use the same formula as last year's 2026-2027 season: trips at 50 euros and pet travel
Almost 900,000 places will be offered in total, 7,400 of which have been reserved for pensioners with fewer resources at a price of EUR 50.
The Institute for the Elderly and Social Services (Imserso) will open the 2026-2027 seasontravel booking period from 14 September and the new developments applied last year will be maintained: places at EUR 50, for pensioners with fewer resources and the possibility of travelling with pets.
The Imserso has already begun sending out 2,938,156 letters to 2,98,255 people accredited to travel with the tourism programme 4,602,255, as reported on Tuesday by the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030.
As last year, a number of places have been reserved, specifically this year 7,447 places, for 50 euros, for persons receiving a benefit equal to or less than the amount of Social Security non-contributory disability or retirement pensions.
In addition, a percentage of places have been booked to allow users who so wish to travel with their pets .
Almost 900,000 places
A total of 879,213 placeswill be offered this year, of which 50.1 per cent (440,284) will be for peninsular tourism, 25.9 per cent (228,142) for island visits and 23.9 per cent (210,787) for escape tourism, including cultural circuits, nature tourism, provincial capitals and the autonomous and European cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
On 14 September , travel will begin to be marketed in the Autonomous Communities of Andalusia, Aragón, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid, Melilla, Navarra and La Rioja, priority users - those with the highest score on a scale, depending onwhether they have travelled the previous year or were given the first option, among others - and on 15 September, for non-priority users.
In the rest of the Autonomous Communities, such as the CVC, and Ceuta, the deadline opens a day later: on the 15th for preferred users and on the 16th for non-preferred users.
In addition, in order to avoid the concentration of travel on a few dates, 36 per cent of the seats in each batch have been distributed proportionally during each month of the travel campaign, in order to mitigate the seasonality of travel and avoid overcrowding during periods of increased occupation.
