14 victims of sexual assault by the Donostia candy salesman
The Ertzaintza is investigating the six-year period since some of the reported incidents date back to 2020. The alleged perpetrator has been in pre-trial detention since early July.
During the open investigation into the man arrested last July in Donostia-San Sebastián on charges of sexual assault on a minor, 14 victims have so far been identified, all aged between 10 and 18. The investigator, a 22-year-old, has been in pre-trial detention since being taken into custody on 2 July.
The accused sold candy in a shop in the capital of Guipuzcoana, where, according to the investigation carried out by the Ertzainas, the events took place.
The Ertzaintza began investigating the case on 30 June, when a family reported two sexual assaults suffered by a minor in a candy shop. After the arrest of the alleged perpetrator, 13 other victims, who at the time of the incident were between 10 and 18 years old, have been identified.
Officers are investigating a period of approximately six years, as the first reported incidents date back to 2020.
The investigation remains open and the officers continue to analyse the evidence and information obtained, and it is not ruled out that new victims can be identified given the long time investigated, so the Ertzaintza has requested the cooperation of the public and has called for the investigators to be informed of any situation related to this case.
