In the Navarre Pyrenees, firefighters continue to work to control and extinguish the forest fire that broke out last Friday with Urzaini, after the flames reignited again on Monday. The fire has been perimeter , but the rain that has fallen in the last few hours has not been enough to control the flames. However, weather conditions have improved.
SOS Navarra has reported that yesterday's rain has led to an increase in humidity in the area, although the Spanish weather agency Aemet has warned that the risk of fire in the Navarre Pyrenees is still very high this Thursday.
The fire has started in a rugged area that is difficult to reach by land, so in collaboration with firefighters trying to extinguish the flames from the ground, seven helicopters are trying to extinguish the flames from the air.
To prevent the flames from spreading, firefighters from Lodosa, Estella and Nabazkoz have spent the night there, arriving today from Cordovilla and Sangüesa to continue the extinction work.
