A man arrested in Gorliz has been placed in pre-trial detention for three crimes against sexual freedom

A 24-year-old boy has been sent to prison in Gorliz for three crimes against sexual freedom , according to the Department of Safety and Security.

The Ertzaintza initiated an investigation following a complaint filed by a 22-year-old woman who, on 3 September, was assaulted by the detainee in Gorliz in the early morning under a balaclava, who attempted to sexually assault her, although a neighbour intervened, trying to help the young woman, and the aggressor fled.

After identifying the perpetrator, the Ertzaintza arrested him and confessed to the officers another similar incident on 8 August, in which he assaulted another 21-year-old woman, whose cries caused the man to flee.

The Local Police of the town of Biscay have taken part in the investigation, which has led to the identification of another attack committed the same night, in which case the victim managed to escape in a vehicle.

The man, who has been taken into custody, has been placed in pre-trial detention. The Ertzaintza is continuing the investigationto try to clarify the other crimes committed by the young man in the same way, in all cases at night, in isolated places and in balaclava, in which he assaulted young women.
