They found a hidden camera in a CAF bathroom and an employee found him guilty
The Works Council has denounced the events and expressed its "full solidarity with all those who may have suffered this attack." The Ertzaintza has opened an investigation.
A hidden camera has been found in a toilet at the CAF plant in Beasain and a worker has pleaded guilty to it, as reported by the Works Councilof that plant in a statement released today.
According to the report, on 4 September, the Directorate summoned the trade union representatives to an emergency meeting, at which HR officials informed them that they had found a hidden camera in one of the toilets at the plant, that a complaint had been lodged with the Ertzaintza and that a communication had been sent to the regular users of the toilet.
Three days later, on 7 September, the Works Council was called to a new meeting to follow up on the matter, and it was then that the Management informed them that a worker had pleaded guilty and discharged.
The letter states that they received all this information under the confidentiality clause , and therefore have not been able to report what happened so far.
"Full solidarity" with the victims
The Works Council has expressed its "full solidarity with all those who may have suffered this aggression "and has called for workplaces to have "safe areas . "" Any sexual assault is unacceptable and we will not tolerate this type of behaviour at CAF facilities, "they wrote in the statement .
Finally, staff representatives recall that the CAF has a specific protocol against sexual harassment , and if any worker is exposed to such a situation, they call for contact with the Works Council.
The Ertzaintza is investigating what happened and judicial proceedings are open.
