Mass demonstrations are expected again in Iparralde and the French state
Asin the French Basque Country , massive demonstrations are expected today in the French State to denounce the loss of purchasing power and demand quality public services, among others. In the French State, these vests have been called, and in the French Basque Country, the interunion.
In this context of protests, the Ministry of the Economy has released data for the third quarter of the year and has reported that the French economy is on the brink of recession, as GDP has fallen by a tenth.
As for the demonstrations, Bayonne's has finally received permission from the Prefecture. The appointment is at 14:00. The interunion has warned that having the possibility of a ban on the march on the table is a "dangerous game" because it had a similar attitude last weekend and there were incidents.
In the labour capital, strict security measures have been put in place, and as last Saturday, theFrench police have announced the installation of checks on the Irun border — in Biriatou and on the bridges of Behobia, Avenida and Santiago — from 06:30 to 14:30. In this regard, the Irun City Council has addressed the Government to urge the French Government to suspend these controls. Indeed, on 24 October, long queues were formed in the direction of Bayonne, not only on the AP-8, but also on nearby roads. Today, for the time being, no major problems have arisen.
In the French state, dozens of demonstrations have been called, but the French Council of State has just banned what was to be called in the centre of Paris. The high body has argued that there is a "high risk" of looting and riots and has sent the summoners a proposal for a new route outside Paris.
In addition to the ban, a curfew has been in place since yesterday in the Republic Square and in the Les Halles area. Since 9 p.m., minors will not be able to travel alone through various neighbourhoods of the capital.
The French Government has put in place an extensive device of 70,000 officers, and will set up roadblocks and train stations.
