The President added that he expects the hostages to be released and handed over to their families and thanked the countries involved.
"In many ways, that's unprecedented (...) everyone was united in their desire to end this war, and we're close, "Trump said.
The US president's response comes after the Islamist Hamas group agreed to release the hostages to resume negotiations. In this regard, he has asked the Israeli army to stop the bombing ofGaza.
