Trump will travel to Israel and Egypt under the agreement signed with Hamas
It appears that the US President is planning to hold a sort of summit on Gaza in Egypt, where he intends to meet European and Arab leaders at the beginning of next week.
U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that he will travel to Israel and then arrive in Egypt in connection with the agreement with Hamas.
"I will go to Israel (...) to talk to the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament) and then I will also go to Egypt," the president said at a press conference at the White House this Friday.
Trump has not specified the route of the trip, but recalled that Hamas will begin releasing the hostages on Monday, as agreed this Wednesday between Israel and Hamas.
According to the US digital media Axios, Trump will hold a kind of summit on Gaza in Egypt early next week, involving European and Arab leaders.
The initiative aims to monitor the reconstruction of Gaza, coordinate international aid and create monitoring mechanisms to ensure compliance with ceasefire commitments, strengthening the US's role as mediator in the region.
