"It appears that some people have been killed when it was not necessary," he said when asked about a possible military reaction.
"I'm not going to say what I'm going to do, where we're going to attack, when and from what angle," he said, before adding that once all options have been considered, a decision will be made.
Trump said on Saturday that Iranian leaders contacted to negotiate, but warned that the US could act before a meeting. "Iran called, they want to negotiate," he stressed.
