The agreement on the new Strait route does not mean that it will be reopened, as Iran has specified, which was closed as a result of the U.S.-Israel military offensive.

Iran has claimed that talks with Oman to establish a new navigation mechanism at the strategic maritime crossing are progressing positively, while the US has called for its reopening and Donald Trump has threatened further attacks on Tehran if no agreement is reached.

The President of the United States has stated that negotiations with Tehran are taking place this afternoon, at the request of several Gulf countries, but that, according to the Iranian Foreign Minister, Washington is not involved in talks on the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's supreme leader has pointed the finger at US President Donald Trump for failing to comply with the ceasefire provided for in the Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides.

The United States has terminated this seven-day series of attacks.

The US has been carrying out attacks on Iran for several days on charges of violating the agreement of understanding. Tehran, however, has denied the charge, denounced repeated breaches of the ceasefire and responded with attacks against US interests in the region.

For the third day in a row, the US has attacked military targets in Iran and that, in retaliation, has attacked US bases and positions in Bahrain and Jordan. Trump has sought compensation for aid to Gulf countries, while oil prices have risen to mid-June values.

Attacks by US forces on Iran have received a response from the Revolutionary Guard, which has attacked US bases in several countries in the Middle East.

Tension with the United States is mounting, and Washington has carried out at least 140 bombings of Iran.

Mojtaba Khamenei has thanked in writing the tens of thousands of people who have attended his father's funerals in the seven days since his death.

The president of the United States has also ordered the Pentagon to bomb Iran "as never before" if it is killed by a "plot" by the Islamic Republic.
