The United States has announced the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz from Monday (14 GMT, 16:00 in the Basque Country and 17:30 in Tehran).

After the weekend peace talks between Iran and the United States ended without agreement, US President Donald Trump has ordered the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz since this Monday. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard, for its part, has warned that anyone approaching Hormuz will violate the ceasefire.
Trump stressed last night that, following the announcement of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, "several ships" are heading to the United States for oil.
Trump has also stressed that the ceasefire agreed between the US and Iran remains in effect. Moreover, the US president believes that Tehran will want to negotiate, considering it to be "desperate" and "in very bad shape."
The Iranian Revolutionary Guardhas made it clear on Monday morning that any ship approaching the Strait of Hormuz will violate the ceasefire. According to Trump's announcement, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz will enter into force in Tehran at 5.30 p.m. (14 GMT and 16:00 GMT in the Basque Country).
In any case, the US will allow ships that do not go to or from Iranian ports to pass through Ormuz.
