They've extended the detention of two Flotilla activists for two days
The Brazilian Thiago Ávila and the Palestinian-Spanish Saif Abukesh are the two arrested by Israeli forces for participating in the Global Summit Flotilla.
The Ashkelon Magistrates' Court has extended the detention of the Palestinian-Spanish activist Saif Abukesh and the Brazilian activist Thiago Avila for two days, according to the centre representing the two members of the Adalah Global Sumud fleet.
Despite his health,theactivist Saif Abukesh has been in a state of shock since he was arrested by Israel last Thursday.
Adalah's team has reported that both activists have been mistreated since being imprisoned, as well as "illegal interrogations."
He said in a statement that Avila was "beaten" and dragged off the ground. Besides, he was held incommunicado when he was arrested. As a result, he has suffered severe pain, injuries, and occasionally loss of consciousness.
In the case of Abukeshek, he has been "handcuffed and blindfolded," and has often been placed in uncomfortable positions since his arrest. That caused bruising on his face and hands.
