Trump calls the helicopter crash in Ormuz a "downing" and promises to respond to Iran's "attack"

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed on Tuesday that Iranian forces have "shot down" a U.S. Army helicopter near theStrait of Hormuz, adding that it will respond to "aggression."

"Our Armed Forces have informed me that last night the Iranians shot down a high-tech Apache helicopter while patrolling theStrait of Hormuz, where two pilots were travelling, both of whom were unharmed, yet the United States must respond to this attack, "the president said in a message posted on social media.

The Republican leader had previously reported that the pilots had been safely rescued, but gave no further details of the causes of the incident.

Operation "false flag" in Kuwait

On the other hand, the Iranian government claimed on Tuesday that the attack a week ago on Kuwait International Airport, which resulted in one death and was attributed to Tehran, was "a false flag operation" by the United States, which it accused of using as an excuse to sell defence systems with the Kuwaiti authorities.
