Morocco indicts dozens of people for crisis-related crimes in Ceuta
Moroccan justice has prosecuted at least 34 people in Tetouan, according to sources from the Moroccan Human Rights Associationcited by EFE, for violent acts and other crimes related to the Ceuta crisis, five of whom are minors, charged with violence and vandalism and transferred to a child protection centre in Rabat.
The remaining detainees are charged with the offences of rebellion, use of weapons, violence against the police and damage to public property, organization of irregular crossings on the border between Castillejos and the autonomous city of Spain, and "participation in the transport of passengers without authorization and facilitating the covert departure of foreigners from unprepared places".
In addition, Morocco has taken 52 people to the courtsin Nador Re in connection with the Ceuta crisis.
The Moroccan authorities have not provided any official information on the detainees.
According to Europa Press, local diplomatic sources have denied that migration policies have been "relaxed" and have ensured that anyone attempting to cross the border in an irregular manner "knows that they will return and that Morocco will accept their return." Rabat maintains this "commitment" for a long time.
