King Harald V of Norway diedat the age of 89, according to the Royal House, who died at 6:35 in Norway (4:35 in the Basque Country) at the Oslo National Hospital.
King Harald died peacefully at Rikshospitalet Hospital at 6.35 a.m. on Friday, August 28, "the Norwegian Royal House said in a statement posted on its website.
He had been admitted to the Norwegian National Hospital for anemia since August 17. His condition worsened on Thursday due to a blood infection.
The state of health of King Harald V has been a concern for the Norwegian people, many of whom have approached the Royal Palace in the last few hours to offer their support to the President and to deposit flowers.
