The Basque Country is today experiencing a new day of heat, with thermometers exceeding 35 degrees in different parts of the Basque Country, with a maximum temperature of 38.7 degrees in Balmaseda (Bizkaia).
The Basque Government's Department of Safety has activated the yellow warning for very high temperatures for today, with the warmest in the interior of Gipuzkoa and, above all, in Bizkaia and Ayala Alavesa.
AEMET has also issued yellow warnings for today and tomorrow in Navarre for high temperatures and storms, so that in Pamplona and Estella they have reached 34 degrees and 38 in Tudela.
In Encartaciones, Bizkaia, temperatures above 35 degrees have generally been recorded, with the highest values in Balmaseda (38.7 degrees), Zalla (37.9 ° C) and Sodupe (37.8 ° C).
In Bizkaia it has also been very hot in the Duranguesado, which has reached 37.3 degrees in Igorre and 37 degrees in Amorebieta.
In Gipuzkoa, the weather station in San Prudencio, in Bergara, has recorded 38 degrees, reaching 36.6 in Alegia, 36.3 in Arrasate and 36.2 in Ibai Eder (Bergara).
In general, the heat is not so high in Álava, but in Ayala (the region bordering the Encartaciones) the temperatures are very high, with 38.2 degrees in the Gardea district of Llodio and 37 degrees in the Saratxo of Amurrio.
On the other hand, there has been a tropical night, with thermometers marking the lowest in Zumaia (20 degrees), Uxue (20), Bermeo (20), Bardenas (19) and Mendibe (19).
