15 films will compete in the Official Section of the LGTBIQ+ Bilbao Film and Performing Arts Festival from 23 to 30 June in three categories: FIK, DOK and KRAK (new narratives).

In total, Bilbao will host more than 50 activities: projections, performing arts, meetings, professional days, parties...

The director of Zinegoak, Alaitz Arenzana, explained today at the presentation press conference the main innovations of the 22nd edition: "This year we have focused on the networks of resistance and emotions that we generate from dissent, so that we can rethink models that go beyond traditional structures.

In addition to the feature films, 30 short films will compete in the Official Section and, in addition to the usual cycles of "Childhood and Adolescence" and "Women Directors", in this edition Zinegoak will have new cycles, "Love Networks" and "Areas of Resistance", in which they want to invite the public to "reflect on the importance of maintaining an active political struggle at a time when hate speech is increasing" and in the cycle "Future from memory" they will look to the past "to build a more conscious future."

The festival will begin on June 23 at the Arriaga Theatre, and Taiwanese director Zero Chou will receive the 2025 Zinegoak Honor Award at the inaugural ceremony.

The event will be followed by the premiere in the Basque Country of the film "Jone, sometimes", a premium opera by director Sara Fantova who will compete in the official FIK section.

In addition to Fantova's work, six Basque short films will participate in Zinegoak: Where areyou?  (Marina Moreno Novoa), Judoka  (Ander Iriarte), Maitemina  (Erik Rodriguez Fernández),

The closing ceremony of the festival will take place on Monday, June 30, in Bilborock, where the champion of the 22nd edition, including the Zinegoak Grand Prix sponsored by EITB, will be announced.

In addition, once completed, the festival will continue in its digital window on EITB's Primeran platform, a channel of films that have participated in the festival.
