The documentary "Between goodbyes" has won the Zinegoak Grand Prix
Zinegoak LGTBIQ+ Bilbao Film and Performing Arts Festival announced today, at the closing gala, the palmaris of the edition that ended today. Zinegoak Grand Prix, sponsored by EITB and valued at 4,000 euros, has been awarded by the documentary Between Goodbyes Jota Munen, "for the skill and beauty with which a hard and healing journey to the origins of an adopted person is narrated."
The documentary tells the story of a queer person named Mieke, of Korean origin, who will be adopted by a Dutch family, a feature film that has also won the Lesbianism and Gender Award.
Between Goodbyes has been the winning work in the DOK category. As for the FIK fiction category, the winning film has been for Sabar Bonda Rohan Parashuram of Kanawad for "representing a caring, pleasant, idyllic and relaxed love in the non-exotic countryside of India," according to the jury.
In the KRAK section related to new narratives, the work Brigitte, Planet B ,directed by Santiago Posada, has been highlighted for "building a complex and intimate profile of the Colombian scientist, environmental leader and trans icon Brigitte Baptiste, the great reference of queer ecology."
The audience award was for the short film by Angel Morales Ballesta Arrecife and the Young Jury Award for the film by Amélie Hardy Hello Stranger .
The Senior Jury, for its part, has awarded the short film Delincuente by Nuria Vil and Alba Domínguez, and the jury of the Union of Basque Actors has awarded the award to Lav Novosel, actress of Sandbag Dam, for the Best Protagonist Performance of Fiction Feature Films.
Finally, the ZiNaiz prize, endowed with 1000 euros and sponsored by EITB, has been awarded to Markel Zoraquiain for Merco que me quieran .
