"Karmele": Creating worlds on screen
The artistic director Zaloa Ziluaga and the head of the set Imanol Etxeberria have been responsible for representing the war and post-war of 1936 in the film Karmele (Asier Altuna, 2025). Filmean home of the Urresti, we have spoken with them about the challenge of representing a coastal town in Euskal Herria, the streets of Paris and their work.

The Association of Film Theaters of the Basque Country (EZAE) has collected data from 2025, with a 6% decrease in the number of viewers in the cinemas grouped to the association, compared to 2024.
